The key differences in this version compared to Connected 6.05, which may
have been shipped to you already, are as follows:
1) New screen icons in each window.
2) New "Info" button in all windows that have an accounting affect, for
example account invoices, checks, and journal entries. The new Info button
will tell you who added an entry, who last edited an entry, and who posted
an entry. The Info button can be enabled or disabled globally with a User
Privilege. To enable the info button, open the User Privileges window from
the File menu. Highlight the user that you wish to enable it for and click
Modify. Under the "General" tab, click "Other" and scroll to the very
bottom to enable the "Record Info" user privilege.
3) The new Connected Navigator. This is a new window to open screens,
posting windows, and reports. The new Navigator can be opened by pressing
COMMAND+1 (Mac OS) or CTRL+1 (Win OS). To have the Navigator open all the
time or snap open after closing a screen, select Preferences from the
Connected menu (Mac OS) or from the File menu (Win OS). Choose the
"Auto-open Navigator Window" checkbox and deselect the "Use Toolbars".
Restart Connected to remove the toolbar after doing this.
4) My Places menu. The new My Places menu is available in most screens and
will replace all former fast key combinations. My Places allows users to
individually configure up to 25 fast key combinations for screens, reports,
and posting windows. These options are configured in the Navigator window
under the My Places tab.
Connected 6.1 (April) will contain all these changes for existing Connected
clients, along with several more enhancements.
DEMO UPDATED: If a prospect was to download a demo, the Connected 6.0.6
version is what will be received. The switch was made as of 01/06/2009.
